The Good Girl to Goddess Blog

The GGTG Retreat, set in the serene surroundings of Dorset in the United Kingdom, offers a transformative experience for women to connect with their inner Goddess. Participants are guided through a journey of self-discovery, shedding old patterns and embracing their inherent strength and authenticity.

GGTG Program asks participants to commit to at least one Daily Practice. Over time, this daily commitment to oneself builds a foundation on which you walk the path from Good Girl to Goddess, coming into more authenticity, joy and peace. In this blog series, we discuss the purpose behind each of these Daily Practices and the different ways they can be approached. We started with meditation, moved onto coming into the body, and in this blog we explore the why and how of taking time for ourselves, truly the cornerstone of the GGTG Program.

We all feel our childhood wounds in different ways – for me,I am most aware of them when I wake up in the morning, and the sensation feels like a tightness and subtle resistance in my body. Our bodies send us messages like this for a reason – there were wounds to be healed here, and as I’ve committed myself wholeheartedly to the healing journey, I decided to be very intentional about exploring and releasing them.

GGTG Daily Practices reflect a menu of options that each GGTG participant can select from to commit to giving back to themselves eachand every day. As the first-born daughter in a Southeast Asian household, I couldn't help but relate to the "Eldest Daughter Syndrome" blogs that have taken the internet by storm. You are made to take responsibility for your siblings' actions, you are told to be the example—the perfect child. The one who listens, obeys, doesn’t talk back, and follows the rules. You become, so to speak,the "good girl."

Last week, the GGTG Collective met to explore the Goddess archetype, a representation of the authentic, powerful, compassionate creator that exists within every woman. We discussed how to identify her, explore her, and work with her as we heal our Good Girl so that we can embody our Goddess more of the time.
